An Arms License is issued at the discretion of the Deputy Commissioner, ICT. A citizen cannot claim an arms license as a legal right. If the issuance of arms licenses is not regulated through policy, it may lead to violence in society. Therefore, a ban has currently been imposed on the issuance of new licenses to the general public. As a result, the Citizen Facilitation Center (CFC) is not accepting any new applications for arms licenses. However, post transections of arms license i.e. renewal, change of weapon, change of bore etc are currently open, and citizens holding valid licenses may apply for those at the Citizen Facilitation Center (CFC). Here is a step by step process for each transaction:-
